She is the first female African artiste to headline a show at ‘Indigo at The O2’ arena in London, which had tickets sold out hours before the event.

Tiwa Savage is also the first female African artiste to win the ‘Best African Act’ award at the 2018 Europe Music Video Awards, beating Davido, and three others.

In 2014, she became the first female Nigerian artiste to be nominated in the ‘Best African Act’ category of the 2014 BET awards.

On Friday, October 8th, 2021, the queen of afrobeats hinted of a blackmailer who was possibly going to leak her sex tape as she was not ready to pay anything in an interview with Angie Martinez on Power 105.1 radio station in New York.

She told Angie:

“Yesterday, I was in the car when my road manager sent me a message and told me to check my phone. So I checked it and I was just like, ‘wow! Where did you get this from?’ The video was sent to him and it’s a tape of me and the person I’m dating right now. The first thing I did after I got off the phone was that I sent it to my manager and asked what we should do. The person is asking for money now. The person I am dating is going crazy too.”

On Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, and true to the words of the said blackmailer, her sex tape with her lover was leaked, and it became the number one trending issue on Twitter.
