Born Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, Diamond Platnumz is a Tanzanian-born  Bongo Flava recording artiste, dancer, actor, philanthropist, and entrepreneur.

He is the president of WCB Wasafi Record Label, and also the most loved and decorated East & Central African artiste.

Diamond Platnumz is one of the highest paid African artistes and is best known for the hit song “Number One” which featured Nigerian act, Davido.

Diamond Platnumz who is a Muslim by religion was born at the Amana Hospital in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, East Africa.

Diamond has an elder brother, Romeo Abdul Jones aka Rommy Jones who works with him as his DJ, and two blood related sisters namely Queen Darleen and Esma Platinumz.

Platnumz aka Chibu Dangote grew up in his grandmother’s house located at the Western part of his hometown, Tandale in Tanzania.

With his father out of the picture, his mother Sandra Kasim aka Mama Dangote had to rent out some of the rooms in their house in order to cater for him and his entire family.

Life for Diamond Platnumz as an artiste was very tough and unbearable in the beginning after he completed secondary school.

The musician had to sell second-hand clothing, do other menial jobs, and even became a Petrol Filling Station attendant just so he could raise money to pay for a studio session back in the day.

Education

Diamond Platnumz started his nursery education at the Chakula Bora Nursery School in 1995.

The “Number One” singer proceeded to Tandale Magharibi in 1996 and graduated in 2002.

Marriage, Relationship: Diamond Platnumz Three Baby Mamas & Children

Diamond Platnumz currently has three different baby mamas and four children.

With his first baby mama, Zari Hassan, they have two kids namely  Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan.

Zari Hassan is a Ugandan socialite who was educated in London and has Diploma in Cosmetology. Zari is now an entrepreneur based in South Africa and owns a Tertiary College and Cosmetic shops.

There was some friction between Diamond Platnumz and his first baby mama, Zari Hassan over their two kids, Princess Tiffah Dangote and Prince Nillan Dangote.

According to Diamond Platnumz, ever since their relationship collapsed in February 2018, Zari Hassan out of jealousy has always used their two kids against him.

His second baby mama is his Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto who is a fashionista, model, actress, video vixen, and together they have a son by name Dylan.

The third baby mama of Diamond Platnumz is Kenyan model and musician, Tanasha Donna and they have a son, Naseeb Jr. born on October 2nd, 2019.

Diamond Platnumz and Tanasha Donna are no more together.

Music Career

At an early age, Diamond Platnumz started singing by way of mimicking and imitating local and international artistes.

Diamond’s mother, Sandra Kasim played a vital role in his music career by buying him albums of other artistes, helped him write music lyrics in a way that he could easily sing, and also took him out to see different talent shows.

Although family members heavily criticized his mom’s way of treating him because of how they perceived music to be a waste of time, she kept on supporting Diamond until he realized his full potential.

Diamond Platnumz after completing secondary school had to go through a lot of struggles to raise money to pay for a studio session.

 In 2010, Diamond Platnumz hit the airwaves with his first major single release titled “Kamwambie” on his debut album titled with the same name, “Kamwambie”.

After the successful release of his “Kamwambie” debut album, Diamond followed it with his sophomore effort, “Lala Salama”.

In 2016, he dropped another hit song titled “Kidogo”  — borrowed from Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” — and it featured Nigerian R&B duo, P-Square.

The international artistes are Rick Ross, Ne-Yo,  Morgan Heritage, and Omarion.

WCB Wasafi Record Label owned by Diamond Platnumz & its signed recording artistes

Diamond Platnumz is the founder and president of one of the biggest record labels in Africa — “Wasafi Classic Baby” simply referred by its short name as “WCB Wasafi”.

WCB Wasafi houses 35 employees including all artists signed under the label, producers, photographers, artist managers, dancers, and the whole management.

The Tanzanian-based “WCB Wasafi” record label has its Television and Radio Stations namely Wasafi TV & Wasafi FM.

Some of the best Tanzanian recording artistes signed to the WCB Wasafi record label include: Zuchu, Rayvanny, Queen Darleen, Lava Lava, Mbosso, and formerly Harmonize.

Performances

Diamond Platnumz put up an electrifying performance at the Big Brother 7 Eviction show in May, 2012.

He is seen as the most loved and decorated East & Central African artiste at the moment, and also regarded as one of the highest paid artistes and selling Tanzanian artist of ringtones by mobile phone companies in 2013.  

Endorsements & Ambassadorial Deals

On 23 January 2019, Diamond Platnumz, was officially introduced as Pepsi Brand Ambassador in East Africa. The Pepsi Management in Tanzania, unveiled Diamond Platnumz as the entrusted individual to promote their brand within East Africa and increase sales.

On 13 September 2019, he started working officially with Parimatch Africa as their Brand Ambassador

On 25 September 2019, Diamond was named the Nice One Brand Ambassador.

On 4 March 2020, Diamond Platnumz was unveiled as the new Brand Ambassador of Coral Paints (Tanzania).

Other brands Diamond Platnumz is associated with are Coca-cola, Vodacom, DSTV, and Red Gold.
