Akuapem Poloo granted GHc80,000 bail, appeals 90 days jail sentence
The Criminal Court 2 Division of the Accra High Court has granted convicted Akuapem Poloo bail pending an appeal filed by her lawyer against her 90-day jail sentence.
This comes after the lawyer for Akuapem Poloo, Andrews Kudzo Vortia on Monday, April 19th, 2021 filed a notice of appeal and application for bail against the actress’s 90 days custodial sentence.
The Accra High Court presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey granted Rosemond Alade Brown aka Akuapem Poloo GHc80,000 bail with two sureties to be justified.
Akuapem Poloo is to report twice a week to the investigator of the case.

In addition, the actress is supposed to deposit her passport with the registrar of the court.
The court also added that Poloo will only travel with the express permission of the court.
The bail application was not opposed by the state represented in court by Senior State Attorney Selasie Kuwornu.
According to him, this is because the State had no control over the length of the appeal which could travel beyond the 90 days jail sentence.
Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment on Friday, April 16th, 2021, by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Justice Ms Christina Cann, for posting her naked photo with her son on social media.
This was after she pleaded guilty to the charges of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.
