Rosemond Alade Brown aka Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to 90 days imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court for posing naked with her 7-year-old son.
The presiding judge, Ms Christina Cann in delivering her judgement expressed her discontentment with the widespread of nudity in Ghana, especially on social media platforms.
She added that in order for this to serve as a deterrent to others, it was important the court took such an action for the message to go down well with everyone, especially social media users.
Akuapem Poloo was on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021, remanded into police custody to undergo a pregnancy test before her sentencing today, Friday, April 16th, 2021.
Sometime last year, the Ghanaian-Togolese actress released a naked photo of herself and her 7-year-old son.
According to Akuapem Poloo, she posted the photo to celebrate her son’s birthday because she was naked when she gave birth to him.
After incurring the wrath of Child Rights International (CRI), Poloo was invited by the Ghana Police — Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).
The Child Rights International (CRI) at the time contended that what Akuapem Poloo did was a violation of the Welfare Principle of the Children’ ACT and abuse of the child’s right to privacy and dignity.
