2018 3Music Awards full list of winners: Shatta Wale wins the biggest ‘Song Of the Year’ award, Fan Army Award & many more
The maiden edition of 3Music Awards – powered by Media General Group in partnership with Ark Events – came off today, Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Fantasy Dome, Accra International Trade Fair Centre.
The 2018 edition of the 3Music Awards show which was hosted by Joselyn Dumas and D-Black opened with a beautiful poetry performance from Ghanaian poet, Chief Moomen.
And oh boy, Ghana’s dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy followed with an outstanding performance that got the audience standing and dancing till he ended his performance.
Shatta Wale won the biggest and the most prestigious award on the night which is “Song Of The Year”(inclusive of Producer of the song, Song writer, Sound Engineer of the song, and Performer of the song).
Some wowing performances by Ex-Doe and Chicago definitely brought fond memories of old.
And for the first in the history of music award schemes in Ghana, the event which was telecast live on TV3 saw every winner on the night go home with a gold-plated plaque as part of the prize package.
Important personalities who graced the show included Minister of Information, Mustafa Hamid, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), among others.
Other artistes who gave brilliant performances included: Obibini, TeePhlow, Eno Barony, Freda Rhymes, Joyce Blessing, Nana Yaa, Sista Afia, Joe Mettle, Galaxy, Jupiter, Ama Safoa, Kumi Guitar, and Maccasio.
The 3Music Award Scheme seeks to award outstanding music personalities under the calendar year starting from October 2016 to October 2017.
Outstanding Achievement Awards were presented to Joy FM (Multi Media Group), Peace FM (Despite Group of Companies), Graphic Showbiz, TV3 Network, Chaterhouse, among others.
The Music Man, Kojo Antwi was given the Outstanding Music Award on the night.
